Bottom Line:
Warning for all lazy movie watchers: This movie is subtitled! This is a recent find on Netflix, so take advantage of this opportunity if you are a Netflix user as I imagine this is typically a hard movie to come across (U.S.) It is amazing what this film was able to do in terms of capability and creativity. Every set/location seems so unique and it is all done with very limited funding! Timecrimes really utilizes the fundamentals of cinematography in a way that puts the viewer on the edge of his seat/bed/floor/hammock. You will find it hard to do much "multi-tasking" while watching this film. SO, grab our beer pairing and do as follows: Wait till it's dark, be alone, electronic devices away and just get immersed in this film. You won't regret this quick watch!
The Pairing:
We recommend something simple, yet delicious for this one. If you can find it go for Estrella Damm, it sticks to the Spanish vibe and you can take 'em down with ease. It has been brewed in Barcelona, Spain since the late 19th century. This pale lager provides a crisp finish with distinct grain aromas. We found it at Raffe's Deli off Poplar Ave. in Memphis. Kroger's sometimes have it as well!
